Our Approaches to Healing simply.
Learn more about a few of the therapy approaches we use to support healing, growth, and restoration.
EMDR (Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)
EMDR is a structured, evidence-based therapy most commonly used to treat trauma and PTSD, and can also support recovery from addiction.
During EMDR, you’ll briefly focus on a difficult or distressing memory while engaging in bilateral stimulation (such as guided eye movements or tapping). This process helps your brain reprocess the experience so it feels less overwhelming.
Over time, many people notice a reduction in emotional intensity, allowing them to feel more grounded, safe, and in control.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
CBT is a widely used, evidence-based approach effective for treating anxiety, depression, PTSD, and more.
This therapy focuses on helping you recognize patterns of negative or unhelpful thinking and understand how those thoughts influence your emotions and behaviors.
Together, we’ll work to:
- Identify and challenge unhelpful thoughts
- Develop healthier thinking patterns
- Build practical skills to improve your daily well-being
The goal is to empower you with tools you can use both inside and outside of sessions.
Faith-Integrated Therapy (Optional)
Faith-integrated therapy is available for those who wish to include their spiritual or religious beliefs as part of the healing process.
The role of faith in therapy is not to tell you what to believe or to answer your most burning theological questions. Our goal is to create space to process thoughts and feelings about faith, examine how that connects with overall well-being, internal turmoil, or history, and pull from the resources that currently or previously have helped you — such as prayer, journaling, scripture-reading, or being connected with a faith-based community.
We may incorporate:
- Reflection on personal beliefs and values
- Processing past or present faith experiences
- Supportive practices such as prayer, journaling, or scripture (if meaningful to you)
- Connection to faith-based community or resources
Your beliefs are always respected, and this approach is guided by your preferences.
